Naked Music NYC's Reconstructed Soul is quite possibly one of the finest down-tempo dance mixes to cross this reviewer's desk. With dozens of mix CDs being released every week, it's hard to wade through the sea of inferior recordings to the select few that are good and worthy of purchase, let alone the ones that are profound and excellently done; Reconstructed Soul is precisely one of the latter recordings. Naked Music NYC has excellently produced this disc and made it, quite possibly, one of the best dance/down-tempo mixes available in 2001. Reconstructed Soul, though, is actually a re-release of a series of recordings first released to wide appeal in 1998. This 2001 update has a few new mixes and some of the original classics that appeared on What's on Your Mind?. Naked Music NYC has created a fine and excellently crafted recording for relaxing and contemplating. If you want a disc with choice grooves and a very relaxing and positive vibe, complete with relaxed hip-hop breakbeats, soulful, sexy vocals, and the lush sound of the Rhodes electric piano, then this is the disc for you to have. This recording has rightfully earned its place as an All Media Guide pick. Fantastic disc.
