Frazier Chorus attempts to branch out on Wide Awake, incorporating heavy washes of lush synthesizers, ethereal vocals and elastic, trancy rhythms to their dreamy pop. Although the music sometimes falls flat, much of the record is surprisingly effective, capturing the middle ground between mainstream pop/rock and lush jangle pop.
