Veteran Cuban bassist Cachao performs both Afro-Cuban jazz (including several jam session numbers) and salsa on this large production, which finds him at the head of a different (if overlapping) band on every selection. The music is joyous, quite infectious, and often stirring, with the bassist sometimes in the lead yet often happy to give the ensembles forward momentum. Danceable, fairly creative, and highly enjoyable music.
