Pete Namlook, Klaus Schulze, and Bill Laswell probably had a lot of fun recording The Dark Side of the Moog series. At least they had fun naming the tracks on the discs. The Dark Side of the Moog 7 features frequent collaborator Bill Laswell. The tracks are &Obscured by Klaus, Parts I-VI.& This volume, like the others, features deep and dark atmospheres surrounding heavy -- even cumbersome -- sequences. Schulze, Namlook, and Laswell are deft sound manipulators, so those sequences are not hard to manage. They fit the soundscapes seamlessly and effortlessly. This set will appeal to fans of early Tangerine Dream, Ron Boots, Ian Boddy, and Global Communication. Because of the trio, it is essential for e-music fans. Casual fans can pass.
