Singer/songwriter/guitarist extraordinaire Blue Miller comes with his first solo album since the dissolution of the Gibson-Miller Band and proves that the wait was well worth it. Kicking off with a trio of tunes co-written with ex-Blackfoot front man Ricky Medlocke ("Every Man," "It Ain't Easy," and "Sometime Tomorrow"), Miller comes up with a brace of originals that all smack of hook-heavy radio-readiness. Tunes like "Callin' Up Your Memories," "What Are You Waiting For," and "You and Me" work well against rockers like "Rockin' Through the Night" and "Thunder Rose," the latter tune reminiscent of his work on the Kick in the Asphalt project of a few years back.This is top-notch modern country that should find itself a wide audience of appeal.
