Though this effort is undesirably brief -- only six cuts long, it is a highlight of Lucas' output. Opening with the mid-tempo groover &Danceland& followed by the melancholy ballad &Sometimes a Love Goes Wrong,& the core of the set is actually bona fide disco with an impressive amount of live instrumentation. The perennial dancefloor favorite &Dance With You& is the surefire standout, offering an irresistible concoction of funky guitars, swinging strings, a groovy organ, and one of Lucas' best vocal performances. With labelmates Lakeside performing the song's primary refrains, not to mention female support from Shelly Clark and Jody Watley (also a labelmate at the time), it is undoubtedly one of disco's shining moments. &Sometimes a Love Goes Wrong& is runner-up in quality -- its melodic simplicity and endearing arrangement are classic.
