Heard's solo debut (of a sort) blends essential club tracks like &Closer,& &On My Way& and &What About This Love& with material more in keeping with his producer mentality and rock background. Selections like &On a Corner Called Jazz,& &Waves Against the Shore& and &We Can Work It Out& provide Heard with a chance to stretch out into intriguing jazzy house. The differences between individual tracks are somewhat slight, and most of the album clocks in at an easy-going mid-tempo gait. While it's a bit over-polished, and there are a few too many vocal tracks (delivered in essentially the same style), Introduction is a fine album.
