A varied and reasonably accomplished singer-songwriter set, mixing the serious and the wryly humorous, though Siegel's only an adequate singer. There's an impressive variety of musical styles (straight acoustic folk, blues, psuedo-Dixieland), but the satirical &Mother's Plaint& offers more convincing evidence that artists from outside the rap field should leave the genre alone.
