The only LP from Fingers Inc. was the first full-length in the genre and an unabashed house classic. Obviously, it's chocked with uptempo singles perfectly primed for easy-steppers on the dancefloor (&Bye Bye,& &Music Take Me Up,& &Distant Planet&), and vocalist Robert Owens' gospel flavor and strong voice is a special treat. What makes Another Side more than just a statistic, however, is Heard's surprising adeptness at sustaining interest over the course of a full album. His flare for melancholy had been previously hinted at only by the Detroit techno producers, and it resulted in the rare mainstream house LP that succeeded on several levels.
