Birdy made an all too welcome return to the pop world a couple of weeks ago with sublime mid-tempo ballad “Wings”. The song showcases the 17-year-old’s powerful pipes and newly discovered pop sensibility perfectly — ramping the anticipation for sophomore set Fire Within.
Only the album never got an official US release date and now we know why. The British songbird is taking a different approach in America.
