Zac Brown Band will come "Uncaged" on their third major label album, out July 10 on Atlantic/Southern Ground, and the country giants have finally released the disc's first single. "The Wind," an uptempo piece of bluegrass, was released on Wednesday (June 6).
In just over three minutes, Brown and co. utilize expert fiddle-playing, stomping percussion and pristine vocal harmonies to convey a carefree bit of romance. The track was written by Wyatt Durrette, Levi Lowrey and the band, and Brown says of the song to The Boot, "It's probably the most country song we've ever done."
The release of "The Wind" coincides with Zac Brown Band's performance at the CMT Awards on Wednesday night. The group will celebrate the release of "Uncaged" next month with performances on "The Late Show with David Letterman," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and "The Today Show's" summer concert series.
"Uncaged" follows 2010 breakout "You Get What You Give," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 1.5 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The animated album artwork for the new disc was also unveiled on Wednesday.
