Following the news late 2011 that American nu-metal band P.O.D (Payable On Death) had signed to indie powerhouse Razor & Tie, comes the announcement that their latest album Murdered Love will be unleashed July 10.
It feels as though it’s been a while since we’ve had news like this from the band who dominated iPods and airwaves in the early 00s. They gained a massive following with their fourth studio album, and now triple platinum, Satellite. It gained the band spots on several major soundtracks, including Tomb Raider and Blue Crush, with absolute masterpiece tracks Alive, Boom and Youth Of The Nation - not to mention the unprecedented four #1 videos on MTV, Grammy nominations and more than 10 million world wide sales.
In a statement released by the record label and band, vocalist Sonny Sandoval said the band “just can’t wait to put out the new album and show everyone what we’ve worked so hard on.” Fans will be waiting with bated breath to see if Murdered Love is a smash hit, or follows the same fate as recent releases from similar acts such as Limp Bizkit and Korn, and well, we all know how they turned out.
