For this historic LP, the Dave Brubeck Quartet met with The New York Philhamonic under the direction of Leonard Bernstein for a program subtitled &Bernstein Plays Brubeck Plays Bernstein.& Together they perform Howard Brubeck's sidelong &Dialogues for Jazz Combo and Orchestra& along with five Bernstein songs (including four from West Side Story). This is one of the more successful &Jazz Meets the Symphony& ventures and deserves to be reissued on CD.
