Shanay is a disappointing effort from Shastro. It has all the makings of a fine psycho-acoustic -- even psychoactive -- meditation CD. Shastro has flutes, keyboards, guitars, and percussion at the ready. Instead of going down the ambient road, he forges into smooth jazz -- good smooth jazz. He is a great musician, no doubt. The major weakness here is that it could have been so much more.
