Captain EO's Voyage is the twenty-ninth studio album released by guitarist Buckethead. The album's title is a reference to Michael Jackson's movie Captain EO. It is not the first time Jackson has been referenced; Buckethead released the track "The Return of Captain EO" on the album A Real Diamond in the Rough in 2009, and a notable song dedicated to the death of Jackson titled "The Homing Beacon."
The album was first made available only as a download through iTunes, but 2 days after the release it was announced that the album would be released on CD through TDRS Music. It is also the first solo release since Kaleidoscalp (2005) that has not been released first through TDRS. The pre-order of the album, along with Left Hanging, started on October 29 with a tentative release of December 1. Eventually, the CD was released on November 29.

- @Z.H.：tarantula crossing是我所听过的电吉他纯音乐中个人认为最经典的一首了，没有之一。。。 开场就是一声冷峻的音调划出来，缓慢的沉闷鼓点倚之而和，瞬间抓住内心，旋律连贯性不强，断断续续的实验风格，一个个音符从容不迫娓娓道来，似低吟，似呢喃，最经典的是2分38秒到2分50秒的旋律，每个音符都值得静心细品，整曲气氛低沉而不压抑，孤独而不消沉，氛围开阔而渺远，好似一个人开着车缓缓前行于荒凉的旷野，天为黄土，地为黑衣，落霞与孤鹜齐飞，孤人渺然于天地。。。除了旋律，此曲也不可忽视伴奏鼓点的配合，可谓天衣无缝，随着旋律或轻，或重，或缓，或快，一路紧紧跟随，真正将节奏控制到艺术的境地！听完后，真感觉是一首极用心之作，可是该曲在这专辑中反响不大，不得不说是一种遗憾。
