This is the European configuration of the album released in America as Anyone for Mozart? It's not quite half-an-hour of vocal vamping to Mozart comprising perhaps the group's best work. Guy Pedersen and Daniel Humair's bass and drums, respectively, provide a beautifully understated yet solid foundation for the octet's gorgeously voiced adaptations of such familiar works as the Piano Sonata No. 15 and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, their rendition of the Rondo from the latter later immortalized in rock & roll circles (at least in New York) as the outro to the Clay Cole Show. The CD reissue offers impeccable sound though no bonus tracks, not that any are needed -- this is delectable, bite-sized jazz/vocal work that doesn't last half long enough to overstay its welcome.
