Tim Story recorded eight tracks from 1978-1980. He intended to release Threads on ATEM, a French label, in 1981. While awaiting its release, he completed his second album, ATEM folded, and Story shelved Threads. Eurock released it in 1992 after Story added three pieces from the same time period -- that is a lot of drama for one album. To cap it all, this is a great CD, worth the wait. It is, in actuality, his debut effort. It showcases the gentle style where he uses acoustics and electronics to convey subtle emotions. The atmospheres are not dark but they are somber. It is contemplative music that will appeal to fans of Kevin Keller, James Johnson, Richard Bone, and Darshan Ambient.
