The Boogie House Tapes Vol. 1 is a series of live and unreleased recordings spanning the first decade of Canned Heat. From the vaults of Fito de la Parra and "Dr. Boogie", the tracks contained are live versions and alternate takes of many of the classics. The live versions of "Pulling Hair Blues" and "London Blues" show off Alan's wailing harmonica and cracking voice flowing up and down the vocal register. "Human Condition" features a clear recording Alan singing the track live to a reactive audience in Europe 1970. Bob "The Bear" Hite notoriously sets the tone for the evening from the beginning of the first CD, and brings you right into the concert. I reccomend this set to every person who mentions Canned Heat because it captures their unique chemisty and is a great introduction to the band's 35+ year presence for under $13.
