CD Description

This new project by the versatile drummer Stanton Moore issues is being released on CD by Telarc and is also available as an instructional book and DVD (Hudson Music). All three facets are designed to explore the roots of funk drumming by examining the work of pioneers like Jabo Starks, Clyde Stubblefield and Zigaboo Modeliste.

"Groove Alchemy reflects the program that I have put myself through to improve my own funk and groove playing. It's a groove boot camp." says Stanton. The twelve track CD features Moore's regular trio - Robert Walter on piano and organ and Will Bernard on guitar. It is packaged in a digipack which includes an insert for the DVD and book. A reciprocal insert for the CD will be included in the DVD and book when it is available from music shops.

Stanton Moore and his trio toured the UK in 2009 and he has also demonstrated his drumming skills at drum clinics throughout the UK.
