From humble origins to bachata royalty, el "Principe de la Bachata" has come a long way, a success story that both his local fans and those stateside can identify with. Having made the long climb up the talent ladder, from forming a musical group with his brothers, to relocating to Santo Domingo (without knowing a soul), to talent scouts, and eventually all the way up to J&N Records, Frank Reyes has ended up as one of the Dominican Republic's most beloved musicians. His tenth major-label release, Dosis de Amor has been so well-received that it would seem that el Principe de la Bachata may still be ramping up to full speed. Hitting Billboard's Latin Tropical Albums while also leaving an impression on the singles charts with "Princesa" makes Dosis de Amor his most acclaimed release to date. His strong, mature voice and confident delivery stand out in a genre which tends to lean towards smooth, boyish and even whiny vocals. Reyes' performance is consistently above par, and the writing is some of the best in the bachata world. Many bachateros have romance and drama to spare, but lack any depth or soul. Frank Reyes is an artist who has and will continue to stand the test of time.
