Forbidden were clearly running out of ideas by their sophomore album Twisted into Form. While it generally delivered similar intensity and power as their debut, the album clearly lacked its focused, road-tested songwriting. "Tossed Away" does manage some ground-breaking melodicism (singer Russ Anderson revealing a surprisingly tuneful, Rob Halford-like delivery), but the similar experiments of "One Foot in Hell" sound somewhat awkward. There's nothing particularly wrong with tracks like "Step by Step," "Parting of the Ways," or "Infinite" either, but only drummer Paul Bostaph's incredible performance really keeps things interesting.
