by "Blue" Gene Tyranny
Fabulous new CD of an on-going collaborative project in England from 1981-1983, and just released now, by these two talented composer-performer-producers. Basically, 17 selections were created by a live and loop processing/extraction method resulting in a kind of "sample record" made just before samplers were invented. The selections include: "Are You a Fish?," "Russians," "Out in the Yard," "The Unpopular Statement," "The Non-Loop," "Unlooped," "Eighth," "Sixth," "Seventh," and "God". With John Greaves, bass, Anton Fier, drums, David Van Tiegham, percussion triggers, Peter Gordon, sax, piano, keyboards, percussion, guitar, David Cunningham, guitars, loops and treatments, prepared piano, percussion, keyboards. There are also found spoken voices including some of famous people who, for legal reasons, can't be identified (but undoubtly you can).
