While his music is not bhangra in any accepted sense, he grew out of the bhangra scene. His is a remarkable bhangra-related dance music often carrying a social message in a mixed Punjabi, English and West Indian patois. Tracks such as "Chok There" (slang for 'Tear the house down'), "Move over India," "Don Raja" and "Arranged Marriage" made it a remarkable debut. (With one qualification: several tracks had previously appeared on Apachi Indian by Don Raja, a mini-album for Jet Star (SDCD46) which spelled his name in a nonstandard way.)
