Although it's occasionally a little anonymous, Code Red's debut album, Scarlet is an enjoyable urban R&B record in the vein of Babyface, Blackstreet, R. Kelly and Boyz II Men. The group lacks really strong material -- only a handful of songs, such as the single &This Is Our Song,& truly stand out -- but they have nice voices, which can make the weaker moments pleasant. All in all, Scarlet doesn't deliver as much as it promises, but it suggests the band is on the right track.
