Paul Halley's multifaceted piano virtuosity has been heard with Paul Winter as well as on Halley's previous solo release. His latest, Angel on a Stone Wall, offers a contemplative reflection of his talents and an inspired composite of musical portraits, from Spain to the Grand Canyon. The talents of other fine players add to the varied appeal, including cellist Eugene Friesen, percussionist Glen Velez, bass player Russ Landau and sitarist Amit Chatterjee. One piece, &Ubi Caritas (Where There Is Love)& incorporates Gregorian singers and African chants, with a guest appearance by Paul Winter. Halley, in fine company, has never sounded better.
