1975年5月12日，葛拉翰与罗素在澳大利亚共同参与演出安德鲁·洛伊·韦伯的音乐剧《万世巨星》（Jesus Christ Superstar），两人因此而互相认识。同年，他们连同克蕾丝·哈蒙德（Chrissie Hammond）以及另外两人组成了五人乐队“空中补给”。然而，在当他们发行了乐队的第一首单曲《Love and Other Bruises》之后，克蕾丝离开乐队，其位置便由不久后新加入的杰里米·保罗（Jeremy Paul）取而代之。
1976年他们发行首张同名专辑《空中补给》，后来被洛·史都华邀请担任他北美巡回演唱会的暖场歌手乐团。在此期间杰里米离开了乐队。

Air Supply is the debut album by Australian soft rock band Air Supply which was released on CBS Records in December 1976. The album peaked at No. 17 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart. It includes the single, "Love and Other Bruises" released ahead of the album in October which reached No. 6 on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart. The second single, "Empty Pages", issued in February 1977 did not reach the Top 40. The album reached gold status in Australia. It wasn't until the album Lost In Love that the band broke through international charts.
