Warrant's comeback album Ultraphobic was simply released at the wrong time. By 1995, the audience for the band's good-time, party-all-night pop-metal had evaporated, deserting them for the harder-edged sounds of grunge and alternative. Warrant try to sound harder on Ultraphobic, but all the grungy guitars sound forced. However, when the band sticks to their trademark metal, they turn in songs that are as good as anything they had ever done. But by the time the record was released, no one was listening anymore.
