Gregory Abbott's follow-up LP to his gold Shake You Down album was I'll Prove It to You. Co-produced by Abbott and keyboardist Alan Panaker, it finds the vocalist in the same vein as his previous effort; merging '80s music technology with '50s doowop/early-'60s soul-tinged sensibility. The result is enchanting. Another single, &Let Me Be Your Hero,& was more in the vein of &Shake You Down. The title track and &Runaway& are on his greatest-hits set, Super Hits. The New York-born singer issued an album of new material, Eyes, Whispers, Rhythm, Sex, in 2000.
