As a latter-day holiday album from Kenny Rogers, The Gift isn't half bad, thanks to the professional production and Rogers' honeyed voice, but it does suffer from uneven material and the occasional indifferent performance. There are enough good moments here to make it worthwhile for hardcore Kenny fans, but not enough to make it of interest to less dedicated listeners.
