The Reivers' moderately muscular folk-pop hasn't necessarily aged very well, but those who enjoyed this kind of thing when it was current will still enjoy the subtle charms of this album. &Subtle,& of course, is a gentle way of saying &hookless,& but that's not entirely accurate in this case. &Breathin' Easy& and &Other Side& are more purposeful than interesting, and &Dragonflies& keeps building steadily towards a climax that never arrives. These specifics, however, just seem to make the simple, melodic charms of &What You Wanna Do& and especially &Chinatown& all the more arresting. And even more striking is the fact that &If I Had a Little Time Without You& starts off sounding for all the world like Mission of Burma. Bandleader John Croslin sounds like he's singing with a cold. The title track, strangely enough, is an instrumental waste of time.
