Listed as an EP, though it has a full dozen tracks, Beats by Design is an almost full hour of clean, robotic drum'n'bass, only slightly informed by the street-level tracks Zinc and Hype were doing five years before. It's also delivered in mixed form by Zinc himself, with remixes from Danny Breaks and DJ Hype. Garage fans seeking &138 Trek& may be a bit disappointed by this one; the version here is the original, not the loved-up 2-step version that became a club hit.
