North Carolina singer/songwriter M.C. Taylor, better known as Hiss Golden Messenger, will release his new album Lateness of Dancers September 9 via his new label home, Merge. Last year, Hiss Golden Messenger released his album Haw and reissued his LP Bad Debt on Paradise of Bachelors.

According to the press release, the album was recorded in a tin-roofed barn outside of Hillsborough, North Carolina. The album's contributors include Megafaun, Phil and Brad Cook, William Tyler, Terry Lonergan, Matt McCaughan of Bon Iver, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig of Mountain Man, and Scott Hirsch.
