开启歌德金属乐派大门的重要团队Theatre Of Tragedy,企图结合空灵女声、狂猛残暴死腔,形同美女与野兽的搭配,勾勒Gothic Metal闇中藏柔的精髓,与沉重的Doom Metal相互融合,成就来自挪威的Theatre Of Tragedy于短时间内建立起欧式金属新势力!
备受瞩目的首任女主唱Liv Kristine Espenas,如同坠落凡间的天使受到妖兽囚禁,不断用那细致飘渺声韵尝试融化邪灵的心,令乐迷听的如痴如醉。1995年发行首张同名专辑「Theatre Of Tragedy」,成为影响歌德死金的经典之一,由欧洲如旋风般席卷美国日本等地。来年推出的「Velvet Darkness They Fear」,更为成熟且丰富的编曲,取代Doom的沉重气息。直到1998年之「Aegis」,Theatre Of Tragedy加重电子合成乐的比例,透露欲转向Darkwave/电子歌德路线的勇气,同样让粉丝们乐见他们十足创新想法,拓展金属至新领域的理念。
2004年替代Liv的离去之女声Nell Sigland,她曾是挪威举足轻重团队The Crest的领袖,在经过「Storm」的洗礼后,此回和Theatre Of Tragedy再接再厉交出酝酿三年之久的「Forever Is The World」新碟。开场的"Hide And Seek"弥漫着诡谲场景,随后以清亮的键音点缀,冷不防的冲出恶魔的怒吼,一种不寒而栗之感油然而生;接着用厚实吉他音墙高高围住"A Nine Days Wonder",Nell的声声呼唤甚是令人怜惜;穿绕琴键弹奏出不思议动听旋律的"Transition",虽然仍不失强大金属暴戾之气,却仍无法阻挡耐人寻味的音符窜流;灌入电气颗粒不安翻转的"Astray"、有着弦乐搭衬,就连男声也变温柔的"Illusions",都是Theatre Of Tragedy绝对能攻占乐迷心房的优选,最后的加值曲"The Breaking",戏剧性演出强烈、充满致命的吸引力,不自觉的沈迷其中! Forever Is the World is the seventh and final studio album by the Norwegian gothic metal band Theatre of Tragedy. It was released on September 18, 2009, on AFM Records. The album was produced by the Zeromancer singer Alexander Møklebust and mastered by Bjørn Engelmann.[1] The cover art was designed by Thomas Ewerhard, who made the covers for the previous two albums by the band, Storm and Assembly.[2] Since the release of the record there have been complaints about the mixing and mastering of the album with claims of fuzzing and clipping.[3] The album has been linked by fans to the Loudness War.
