LCD Soundsystem will release a recording of their 2010 farewell concert at New York's Madison Square Garden.
The band's journey, from James Murphy's staunchly underground studio project in the early '00s to a band that could sell out an arena in the blink of an eye by 2010, set them apart as one of the key acts of the early 21st century. The setlist from their final show pulled from each of their albums more or less in equal measure (including a full performance of 45:33, the disco epic originally commissioned by Nike), so the full audio recording of the concert, The Long Goodbye, functions as a greatest hits compilation of the band. Murphy mixed the recording, which will initially be released as a five-LP set for Record Store Day this April 19th. More copies of the vinyl release will hit stores on May 19th, at which point it'll also be made available digitally.
