A typical live set by Dizzy Gillespie with his 1961 quintet, it was recorded at that year's Monterey Jazz Festival. Little unusual occurs although it is interesting to hear this early version of Antonio Carlos Jobim's &Desafinado.& Joe Carroll and Gillespie get to clown around on &Oo Pop A Dah,& but overall, this is a routine performance.
