The album cover offers no clue beyond the notation &live& to indicate the source of these recordings, which find Gillespie and other, uncredited soloists with an electric band playing in a funk-fusion style. Though the headliner and his colleagues make interesting runs occasionally, few of Gillespie's long-term fans will be impressed, and the minimal packaging is no help to an appreciation.
