Vitamin Records two-disc String Quartet Tribute to the Beatles features wonderfully elegant renderings of several Beatles classics, and while it should come as no surprise that there are some gorgeous melodies on display here, the seemingly effortless construction of songs like "Come Together," "Hello Goodbye," and "All You Need Is Love" reveal hidden nuances in the melodies. There is also good deal of John Lennons post-Beatles solo work represented (as well as one of Paul McCartneys post-Beatles songs), which is curious, given the high quality of proper Beatles material that wasnt used, but that is at worst a mere quibble, since the renditions here are really quite beautiful, making this the perfect selection for the Beatles fanatic who has virtually everything else under the sun associated with the group.
