Languid flamenco folk melodies meld with sizzling dance and pop rhythms for Gipsyland's infectious sound. Formed by the Gypsy Kings' touring vocalist, Kiko Motos, and his son, Juanito, Gipsyland's music is more modern than the former but no less effective. Arte provides a sprawling array of tunes that range from the searing dance track "Salaam," a duet with Motos' wife, Anoushka, that adds Arabic touches to the mix, to the gorgeous instrumental ballad "Nuestro." Arte has something for flamenco, Latin pop, and folk fans alike.
