While Los Angeles singer-songwriter Julia Holter issued a 7-inch in 2014, she's now announced the proper follow-up to her 2013 breakthrough release, Loud City Song. Her fourth full-length album is called Have You in My Wilderness, and it sees release September 25 via Domino Records.
A press release from the label suggests that the 10-song effort is Holter's "most intimate album yet." It was written and recorded over the last year and found the solo artist once again hitting a Los Angeles studio with producer/engineer Cole Greif-Neill.
Described as "multi-layered and texturally rich," the collection has been arranged using various electronic and acoustic instruments, as played by "an ensemble of gifted Los Angeles musicians." Through this, Holter's vocals have been pushed to the centre of the mix.
Though themes from the LP have yet to be explained in full, her lyrics are said to be "disarmingly personal."
Down below, you'll find the full tracklisting for Have You in My Wilderness, as well as a video for new tune "Feel You." The song is filled with harpsichord and orchestral strings, while the Jose Wolff-directed video stars Holter and an adorably shaggy little pooch.
