在Hip Hop打滚超过20年的全方位艺人Snoop Dogg，身兼饶舌、制作、创作人与演员等多重身分，唱片已在全世界超过3千万销量认证，堪称流行嘻哈乐的天王级人物。从原本的OG (Original Gangsta)到饶舌歌手等角色之间的转换，象争其不断的自我突破，也成为他多年仍屹立不摇的主因。2011年对他来说是重大的转折点，多年音乐伙伴兼好友Nate Dogg的过世让他开始思考过往，并动身前往牙买加展开反省与赎罪之路，还受洗成为影响Reggae音乐深远的特有宗教Rastafari信徒。这段旅行与心路历程拍成了纪录片「Reincarnated」，他同时改名为Snoop Lion (因为狮子是Rastafari的象征)，也由于对Hip Hop现状的不满，便着手首张Reggae专辑，大展歌唱实力。

为了这次的大转变，Snoop Lion钦点擅长将Reggae元素加入不同种舞曲的重要厂牌Mad Decent首脑Diplo的双人团体Major Lazer担任制作人。除有Drake、Chris Brown、Akon与Busta Rhymes等巨星助阵外，纽奥良雷鬼艺人Collie Budz、Jay-Z名曲〈Empire State Of Mind〉创作人兼女歌手Angela Hunte、牙买加Dancehall歌手Mavado与Popcaan甚至流行小天后Miley Cyrus、女儿Cori B也参与其中，超强阵容让人期待不已。Major Lazer为Snoop Lion打造各式舞曲节奏，开头就以〈Rebel Way〉与〈Here Comes The King〉两首Dubstep重拍，〈Lighters Up〉与〈Remedy〉的Hip Hop节拍以及〈Get Away〉的欧陆舞曲也增添更多可听性。

对于死忠雷鬼歌迷来说，绝不能错过〈So Long〉、〈Fruit Juice〉、〈Smoke The Weed〉与〈La La La〉等多首曲目，从60's强调合音的Rocksteady、80's合成器年代的Dancehall、类似Inner Circle的Reggae Pop到Roots Reggae等风格应有尽有。冲浪民谣风味的〈The Good Good〉散发着加州沙滩的气息，〈Torn Apart〉强烈的4/4拍节奏搭配delay小鼓又飘散出Dub味，试图将多元雷鬼曲风一网打尽。女而Cori B献唱的〈No Guns Allowed〉如圣歌般纯净，Snoop Lion洗净铅华的决心由此可见。结尾曲〈No Woman No Cry〉式的Acoustic作品〈Harder Times〉更是向Bob Marley献上最高敬意。

REINCARNATED, chronicles Snoop Dogg s spiritual journey to SNOOP LION that grew from his recent trip to the island - where the Jamaican people and culture positively affected him.

Snoop Lion is a new moniker of multi-platinum artist and entertainment icon, Snoop Dogg, whose ability to stay at the forefront of popular culture and new technology has resulted in unwavering relevance. Snoop Lion, in conjunction with VICE Media and Stampede Management, are set to release REINCARNATED, the multi-media project capturing Snoop s exploration of reggae music and spiritual growth.
