Dan Seals, Texas-born and raised, is a gifted songwriter and a commanding singer. He gets his musical talents honestly; his father was a musician, his uncle a hit songwriter. By the age of four, Seals could play the string bass and took a spot in the family band. In the '80s he won a number of country music awards, including Songwriter of the Year, Single of the Year, and Vocal Duet of the Year. This 1994 album, Fired Up, released under the Warner Bros. label, carries several superb tracks, like &A Good Place to Be,& &Hillbilly Fever,& &A Rose From Another Garden,& &Gentleman of Leisure,& and &Love Thing.& Country fans who like a little pop beat added to their music will find this album a sure keeper. Even those who prefer their country served straight up will be pleased with the lyrics of most tunes.
