Original Parliament members Fuzzy Haskins, Calvin Simon, and Grady Thomas left the fold for 1981's Connections & Disconnections, also billed as Funkadelic but in fact containing no contributions by George Clinton. Though the trio spend most of the album criticizing Clinton's shifty business practices (which may be quite valid), the only thing that comes through is how much they need his production expertise. Never quite terrible, Connections & Disconnections makes small claims at mediocrity on scattered tracks. Eleven years later, the album was re-released on CD as Who's a Funkadelic?
