Star Rise finds a number of underground UK-Asian musicians remixing Khan and Brook's collaborations, which already pushed the boundaries of worldbeat, jazz and fusion. In these incarnations, the music becomes more fluid, danceable and adventurous, incorporating dub, breakbeats, ambient and rock. It's as much a testament to the talents of Khan and Brooks as it is to the remixers Joi, Talvin Singh, Taa Deem, Black Star Liner and State of Bengal. And for worldbeat and new age fans, the album nearly functions as an introduction to electronica.
