Along with 1984's NO REMORSE, Motorhead's 1998 best-of collection TAKE NO PRISONERS is the best double disc anthology set issued thus far. Although the tracks aren't in strict chronological order, TAKE NO PRISONERS is a fine, consistent listen from beginning to end. Like other similarly styled Motorhead collections, it is not a definitive set, since the tracklisting fails to include material from most of their '90s albums.
But still, you can't go wrong with such heavy metal gems as "Overkill," "No Class," "Ace of Spades," "Orgasmatron," "We Are the Road Crew," "Please Don't Touch," and "Love Me Like a Reptile." The set closes with several live renditions of such early fan favs as "On Parole," "White Line Fever," and "Motorhead," among others.
