The title says it all -- The Other Side finds Wynonna exploring new territory, repositioning herself as a rootsy blues-rocker in the vein of Bonnie Raitt. While Wynonna has a strong voice, she doesn't have the presence to pull off this sound convincingly. Furthermore, the material just isn't strong. A few songs have catchy hooks, but most of them are bland and undistinguished, and when combined with Wynonna's unremarkable delivery, the results are a true disappointment.
