Designed as Al Green's triumphant comeback to the R&B mainstream, Your Heart's in Good Hands is a mixed blessing. Although Green's voice is still astonishing, the album is undermined by a sterile urban R&B production that fails to capture the sensuality inherent in his music. As a result, Your Heart's in Good Hands is quite frustrating -- you can hear Green hit new heights with his performance, but the music is constantly reined in by the lifeless production and the lackluster songs.
