Singer Chris Connor is joined by a big band (plus strings on four of the dozen songs) arranged and conducted by Richard Wess on this out-of-print but quite worthy LP. Connor swings her way through such songs as &Witchcraft,& Alec Wilder's &The Lady Sings the Blues,& &How Little We Know,& &Baltimore Oriole& and &Skyscraper Blues.& She is particularly strong on the ballads, and this little-known gem includes plenty of mood and tempo variation. A strong effort, Witchcraft was reissued on CD in 2001 as part of the two-fer I Miss You So/Witchcraft.
