Strange Music CEO Tech N9ne has revealed his plan to drop his eleventh solo studio album, The Storm, which hits stores December 9th and is up for pre-order now on his official website. The independent giant has revealed that the album is divided into three sections: Kingdom, Clown Town, and G.Zone — with one track representing each of them.
On September 9. Taking to Instagram, the independent powerhouse posted a photo with this caption: “I don’t fit the part for mainstream cause I’m rougher only time they wanna look like me is Halloween muthaf*cka! ( I GET IT NOW) THE STORM, 9/9/16.”
“I wanted to give a gift to you, my fans, and show you that I care about all of you, together,” the independent legend says. “To give you a song off of each level of this wonderful album. I hope you enjoy the songs as much as I do.”
The Storm is the follow-up to Special Effects, which was released last year and included the epic “Speedom (WWC2)” that featured Eminem and Krizz Kaliko. Tech N9ne and Strange Music also unleashed Strangeulation Vol. II.
In an interview in 2015, before dropping Special Effects and The Strangulation II, Tech talked about the album, stating his disdain for the industry process as the motivation for the title. “Watch me on the next album. I’m calling it The Storm. I’m planning the next album already and I don’t even have this one out all the way. Watch me do something with Gary Clark Jr. Watch me get a song with Lana Del Rey. Watch me and Alanis Morrissette finally do it like we’ve been talking about. Watch JAY Z come through, man! I’m not stopping! I’m not stopping!” said Tech, who also revealed Chris Brown could be an additional feature in the works.
After thoroughly working with most big underground artists, over the last few years Tech has collaborated with everyone from Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, B.o.B., T-Pain to 2Chainz which has certainly strengthened his already incredible fan-base.
Tech celebrated two singles being certified gold this year, which brings his total count of songs with 500,000 sales to three.
The Kansas City rapper is currently traveling on The Calm Before The Storm 2016 Tour.
