Bobby Hackett sounds fine throughout this LP but he is accompanied by a string section that is often quite syrupy. The results are meant to be mood music, and it succeeds, at establishing a very sleepy mood! The dozen selections are all taken at slow tempos, and Hackett does nothing to disturb the muzaky atmosphere. As background music, the set has reasonable success, but jazz fans can feel free to skip over this one.
