Two years ago the LA-based Shifty Rhythms crew took a step in a direction that now seems all too familiar in the contemporary music collective structure, when they laid the foundation for a network of producers offering their own spin on the SoundCloud era. Eleven releases and a few million plays later, the Red Pandas have established themselves as a label / collective that bridges the gap between subculture ingenuity and pop-infused familiarity.
Enter Shifty Rhythms Volume Three, an eleven track expansion pack for this ideology that takes Shifty into much darker, less-defined territory while still maintaining many of the bright, futuristic elements their artists are known for.
From the murky bass-heavy depths of AYA’s SubNautical and the genre-shattering guttural moans from um..’s track Skrillex, to the soothing R&B-meets-DMT vibes of Without U by ROSE⌘GOLD, the compilation displays versatility without losing vision.
